When Juan Francisco came to the United States in 1979, the door to a new world was opened to him. For the first time, he saw another society up close and his own from a distance. Through this new perspective, he saw each more clearly. Over the years he has learned to appreciate lifestyles that are different from his own. He came to understand American people learn their culture, their history, and their language.
His experiences completely reshaped the way in which he views the world and the ways in which he approaches his work. He moved from seeing life strictly on a micro level to having the ability to see matters on a macro level as well. He is much more global minded as a result of being exposed to other cultures.
Thanks to his education and work experience, he has been able to piece together how history, domestic and international politics, economics, and the institutions of the family all work together to shape our lives. With an increasingly interdependent and intolerant world, it is more important than ever to have a good understanding of those with whom we coexist.
Juan Francisco’s philosophy is influenced by an old Mexican saying, Cada Cabeza es un Mundo, which roughly translates into every person has a valuable story to tell and a lesson to learn.

For him, a sense of individuality, family and community, and integrating into the American way of life with the hope and aspiration toward living a life with a higher sense of purpose to help others, can lead to happiness, good health and prosperity.
For Juan Francisco, becoming an American citizen was the culmination of achieving a sense of belonging. This accomplishment left him with a deep feeling of hope and gratitude. It was another honor that he was welcomed as a new citizen to this country, and congratulated by former president Bill Clinton.
Juan Francisco is proud of his achievements during the years he has lived in this country. Growing up in Mexico and staying in touch with his family of origin and native culture puts him in a position to help other immigrants towards achieving their dreams.
In the midst of darkness, despair and confusion is the rising hope and knowing that we live in a community with infinite possibilities in every area of life.
